Khalid Alsadek

Khalid Alsadek is a graduate of Orange Coast College with an associate’s degree in journalism. Currently, he is a senior at Shepherd University pursuing a bachelor’s in communications, journalism, and a minor in political science. He currently manages two news outlets; the Shepherd University student newspaper, The Picket, and atislamic.com. In the field of journalism, Khalid has interviewed former heads of state, CEOs, entrepreneurs, world-renowned religious leaders, diplomats and others. Khalid also has a deep passion for Islam and spirituality, founding two college Muslim Student Associations in the United States, and currently serves as Youth Director of An Nur Foundation of Maryland. He also works as a Sunday School teacher for high school Muslim boys. Khalid also works on fostering Muslim-Christian relations, helping plan events with leaders across the U.S., most notably being Sheikh Omar Suleiman in North Carolina in 2024. For Khalid’s Islamic efforts, he has been recognized by the Office of the President of the Republic of Türkiye as being one of a dozen influential Muslim leaders in Southern California. Outside the Islamic and journalism worlds, Khalid is a college-level athlete, competing on the NCAA DII tennis team for Shepherd University.
