United States President Donald Trump publicly condemned Israel on Tuesday for violating a ceasefire deal with Iran.
“ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS,” Trump wrote in all caps on Truth Social. “IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Trump expressed visible frustration with Israel’s actions.
“Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen before. The biggest load that we’ve seen,” he said. “I’m not happy with Israel.”
While placing most of the blame on Israel, Trump also criticized Iran.
“We basically have two countries that have been fighting for so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f**k they’re doing,” he said. “I’m not happy with Iran either.”
The remarks came hours after Israeli forces heavily bombarded Tehran early Tuesday morning. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded by warning that there would be no “agreement” unless Israel stopped its attacks by 4 a.m. local time.
Trump’s ceasefire plan, announced Monday, included a 24-hour phased de-escalation. Under the agreement, Israel was granted an additional 12 hours beyond Iran to halt hostilities and confirm participation.
During that time, Israel stepped up its airstrikes, with the CNN team in the Iranian capital reporting “several” airstrikes hit targets in the city’s central and northwestern districts. The Israeli ambassador to France said that 14 Iranian nuclear scientists were killed in the strikes
Israel has come under international condemnation for similar actions in previous conflicts.
In response, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles targeting Tel Aviv and Beersheba. Israeli emergency services reported four deaths from the strikes.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the country had agreed to the ceasefire terms, adding that Trump’s pressure led them to halt even more strikes on Tehran.
Dubbed the “12-day war” by Trump, the conflict has reportedly killed more than 600 Iranians and 24 Israelis.
