This week, videos circulating on social media depict Palestinians rushing US-backed aid centers belonging to the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) for food and other supplies as widespread famine becomes an increasing possibility in the Gaza Strip.
Israel allowed aid trucks to enter the Palestinian enclave after imposing a three-month blockade since March 2 as the country faces mounting international pressure to avert a humanitarian crisis.
In a move which sidelined the United Nations, the United States and Israel established their own system of aid distribution condemned by much of the international community, as videos of Palestinians being moved into large fenced cage-like structures to receive aid have also circulated.
