Egyptian-American physician and comedian Bassem Youssef delivered a satirical rant while debating former Israeli Defense Force (IDF) spokesperson Jonathan Conricus on an episode of the talk show "Uncensored" released Thursday.
“We saw it with our own eyes,” Youssef ranted comedically about how the Israeli government explains incidents in the Gaza Strip seen as war crimes by international organizations—adding sarcastically that their responses are as ridiculous as saying, “your optic nerve is anti-Semitic.”
Youssef continued on the show, hosted by British media personality and journalist Piers Morgan, explaining how he sees Israel’s claims about its military as “delulu.”
Israel claims itself as “the most moral army in the world. Also, they call themselves the most vegan army in the world,” he said, adding sarcastically that “Jonathan represents an organization that is both vegan and genocidal.” He then joked ironically that it’s as if the Israeli military says, “we do not eat chicken, but we will bomb a hospital, and In Sha Allah, we will barbecue it.”
Numerous times during the fiery debate, Conricus referred to Youssef as being “uneducated” and accused him of spewing “Hamas propaganda.” He also questioned the ongoing risk of famine in Gaza, saying "Do you know how many fat Gazans I've seen?"
Morgan called some of the remarks he made "ridiculous."
