The photos emerging out of the Gaza Strip depicting a young Palestinian man have been circulating across social media.

27-year-old Adel Mazi died of starvation and severe malnutrition at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis on Thursday, according to Palestinian journalist Amr Tabash.

In multiple photos, he is in a skeletal-like state, laying down on a large white body bag.

His hips and rib bones are seen protruding outward with his limbs extremely thin.

“Hunger ravaged his body, illness drained his strength, and he died in a place stripped of the most basic necessities of life,” Tabash wrote on an Instagram post with photos of Mazi.

Starvations deaths in Gaza rise to 162, Health Ministry says

The Gaza Health Ministry reported Friday that at least 162 Palestinians have died from starvation in the enclave since Israel’s war began nearly two years ago.

At least 92 children have died, among them babies as young as 6 months old.

The ministry recorded three new deaths, two of them children.

This comes despite Israel allowing a slight increase of aid into the trapped enclave since Saturday, after announcing a “tactical pause.”
