Over 100,000 protestors took to the streets on Saturday in The Hague, Netherlands, voicing their frustrations with the current government and their inaction against Israeli military policy in Gaza. Many of the protestors wore red clothing to symbolically draw a “red line.”
Organizers call on the Dutch government, especially right-wing and pro-Israel politician Geert Wilders, to take action against Israel. Wilders’ party, the Party for Freedom, currently occupies the largest number of seats in the country’s parliament, and Wilders is the party’s leader in the House of Representatives.
The march ended at the Peace Palace, headquarters for the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the United Nation’s highest court.
Just last year, the ICJ ordered Israel to do all it can to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza and allow humanitarian aid in, which Israel has not fully complied with.
Human rights groups like Amnesty International and Doctors Without Borders helped organize the protest, according to Dutch News.
