Slovenia has announced a complete ban on the export, import, and transit of military weapons and equipment to or from Israel on Thursday, responding to the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The Slovenian government declared that people in Gaza “are dying under the rubble, without access to drinking water, food and basic medical care. It is a complete denial of humanitarian access and the conscious prevention of basic conditions for survival.”
Why it matters: This unprecedented move by a European Union member intensifies international pressure on Israel and signals growing outrage at Gaza’s suffering, further isolating Israel diplomatically as humanitarian concerns escalate.

Starvation deaths in Gaza rise to 162, Health Ministry says
The Gaza Health Ministry reported Friday that at least 162 Palestinians have died from starvation in the enclave since Israel’s war began nearly two years ago. At least 92 children have died, among them babies as young as 6 months old. The ministry recorded three new deaths, two of them children.
Why it matters: The rising death toll emphasizes the severe humanitarian consequences of the blockade and ongoing conflict, with children suffering disproportionately—even as limited aid increases are reported.
