Imran Khan, Pakistan’s incarcerated former Prime Minister, had voiced his party’s readiness to hold “conditional negotiations” with Pakistan’s military. Khan has appointed Mahmood Khan Achakzai, his close political ally, as his representative in the negotiations. 

“We will hold conditional negotiations if the military leadership appoints its representative,” reads a post from Khan’s official X page on Wednesday. “We prefer negotiations with the military leadership, who are the actual decision-makers,” added Khan, sharing his refusal to talk to the “puppet” government. 

The conditions for the negotiations include “clean and transparent” elections and the end of “bogus” causes against his supporters.
