Lamine Yamal, a 16-year old Spanish footballer with Moroccan descent became the youngest to ever score in the men’s European Championship on July 9..
His 25-yard goal in the 21st minute of the match leveled the score 1-1 between Spain and France, as his country was losing 1-0 within the first ten minutes.
“We were a goal down and I just got the ball, I didn’t think about it much and then shot towards the goal,” he said, according to AFP.
His efforts helped Spain beat France 2-1, making it to the final of the tournament.
